Less Than 24 Hours
July 22nd, 2007 by Sonja

I am finished. I began at approximately 8 p.m. last night and just finished. I slept for about 6 hours between 2:30 and 8:30 a.m. …

I set a new record even for myself. But I’m finished. As of 12:30 this afternoon.
And if any of you want to read a great story that tells the big story … the story of love and redemption that includes a lot of the great themes that God has told throughout time, then read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It just might take you a little longer than it did me. I tend to read in great big gulps.  And here’s a fine review with no spoilers …

It completely sucked me in. I was determined to make it last when I started it … because it’s the last one. But it just sucked me in and I could NOT put it down and all of a sudden it was 2 a.m. and I woke up this morning in the middle of thinking about what would come next. So I got my coffee and began reading again. I didn’t even eat breakfast!! It was crazy … 😉

This was the first time I did stretch it out. I read the first four in under a week, then each of the following books within 24 hours. But this one? Amazon and UPS ran into a bit of a problem with delivery, meaning they didn’t deliver it to me on release day. I got the book for free and had to learn a bit of patience. But that bit of patience, I think, helped me to take my time with it, enjoying the moments.

Grand book indeed. Just stay away from Christian forums. Lots of folks eager to dampen the enthusiasm out there.

Looking forward to re-reading it already.
